May 11th 5:11 pm	I changed the red wine special from Bourgeron Rouge to Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot blend. If you ordered the first one you will get that special price, if you want to change it to the new special call us and we will accommodate you.
May 10th 11 pm	FINALLY! Got the May Specials posted! I changed the white wine special from Chenin Blanc to Verdicchio because all the manufacturers have dropped the Chenin Blanc products,
May 6th	We are out of rhizomes!
May 5th	We are evaluating our rhizome inventory! If we find any more they will be posted tomorrow!
May 3rd 9 pm - 5 pm	About 50 plus brewers, customers and potential customers joined us. Food was good beer, beer was flowing and everyone had a good time. Pictures will be posted later, soon as the blackmail notices go out.
May 3rd 9 pm - 5 pm	We will be hosting the Carolina Brewmasters and the Big Brew Celebration in our park on the banks of the Catawba / Lake Wylie on Saturday. Come join us and brew a batch or socialize. This will be our first Saturday brew session and we hope to brew every Saturday through the summer. If you can't join us on the 3rd, please plan to join us soon.

Apr 5th	Everything is working fine today. We will use this week-end to get all the orders in the system so we can get everything caught up and all the orders out Monday-Tuesday. With the problems that I have had with the server, I have been unable to access the website so I was unable to get the SPECIALS loaded. If you have ordered the items on special, if you didn't get the special pricing please let us know and we will refund you the difference. Thank you for your understanding.
Apr 4th	The server is still working fine. We start getting orders outs again and things start processing like normal. My IT guy came in about 3pm. I was so grateful to see him, it is like having a weight lifted off my shoulders. He examined the server and found that 1 of our six hard drives is going bad and is creating the problem. He shut it down and did a little fine tuning and gave us a clean bill of health. He gave me assurance that our data was safe and protected at all times.
Apr 3rd	This is the day that no business looks forward to - the day that the server hangs up, has to be rebooted and doesn't come back up like it is suppose to do. It hangs on "loading your personally settings" for 6 hours - 6 long hours. We had to reboot about 9:30 and it didn't come up until 3:30. In the mean time, we are taking orders by hand, trying to stay busy making up products, and trying to get in touch with our IT guy who is still out of town on assignment. I could use a beer, a big beer. Around 3:30 - 4pm, the server completes its startup routine and everything starts working fine. Only trouble is, I had sent everyone home a half an hour earlier. I talk to my IT guy and he will be in Friday afternoon.
Apr 2nd	Server is still acting up but we pretty much had a normal day even though I felt like I was walking on egg shells. My IT is still out of town.
Apr 1st	We started April Fools day by finding that our "server" had lost everything that we had done on March 31st. All the orders that had come in over the week-end had to be re-entered, all the orders that had been shipped had to be painstakingly reprocessed to prevent duplicate orders and dupicate charges. We lost about 16 man hours but we put 4 people on the problem and only lost a half day of work. My IT was out of town so we were on our own.
Mar 29th	Rhizomes are back! Our last shipment of the season has arrived, allowing us to offer more rhizomes for sell. These rhizomes are in better condition and are bigger than than our first two shipments. Buy them while you can!! There will be no more this year!
Mar 27th	More Rhizomes! Today we received the rhizomes from our new source and these rhizomes are even better than the ones from the other place. I will be posting available rhizomes on the website over the week-end. Thank you for your patience.
Mar 26th	Rhizomes arrived from Dave! Dave put me through a lot of frustration but he came through it counted and we got enough fresh hops rhizomes to allow us to take care of our commitments.
Mar 19th	Back to Dave to get remaining committed rhizomes. I called Dave back and told him that I had found a new source but they couldn't take care of the entire order AND HE HAD TO HELP ME OUT so I could take care of the order commitments that I had. He indicated that he would ship within 3 days.
Mar 18th	Found a new supplier for Rhizomes! I made a couple of phone calls and found that thee worlds largest supplier hop related products could take care of most of my rhizome needs. He could not supply me with all the Cascade and a couple other rhizomes that I wanted but was able to take care of most everything else. I placed my order and told to expect it by Mar 30th.
Mar 17th	Removed rhizomes from the web. I had to stop taking orders until I could find enough rhizomes to take care of our order commitments.
Mar 17th	Called to check on shipment! With orders for rhizomes coming in at a very fast pace, and NOT having received any info on the shipment of the second order, I decided to check with the supplier on the expected shipment date. Dave informed me that he had decided to stop selling wholesale that he was shipping my order from the previous week and that I should find a new source. I didn't like being told "Why should I sell wholesale when I can make twice as much selling retail", but I didn't have a whole lot of choices.
Mar 15th 7:25 pm	Hop Rhizome Arrived on the 13th! Rhizomes arrived on the 13th, we started shipping the first rhizomes out on the 14th. The remaining orders that can be taken care of by this shipment will be shipped out on Monday. A second shipment will arrive next week and our remaining orders should be taken care with that shipment. We are suspending the sell of additional rhizomes as we bring a new supplier on board which should be able to supply us with even more varieties and possibly even better rhizomes. We will have more details on Monday!
Mar 10th	Re-ordered Rhizomes! I placed an re-order for rhizomes with the same supplier that was about double the size of my initial order. He told me that he was having to reduce the quantities of my second order AND that he was raising my price by 20% without notice.
Mar 3rd	Ordered Rhizomes! I placed our order for rhizomes with same supplier that we have used for the last 10 years. This order was about double the size of my all of my rhizomes orders combined that I had placed last year. I was told that was no problem, they would ship in a week. Re-ordering should not be a problem.

Jan 29th 1:00 pm	After conversations with our supplier, we are temporarily removing White Wine Vinegar Culture, as well as the Cider and Malt Vinegar Cultures from our list of available stock. During the Winter season, it is difficult to grow and harvest cultures due to the cooler climatic conditions. We will bring these products back when they become available later in the spring or summer.

Nov 14th 11:35am	Due to the HOP CRISIS of 2007-2008, we are discontinuing a number of our prize winning recipes until an adaquate hop supply is established. We will continue to seek new sources of hops but it doesn't look good. The new harvest is already in the marketplace and lots of varieties are unavailable. After the first of the year, imported harvest may become available. Keep your fingers crossed.
Nov 13th 12:45am	Prices of our wine kits are increasing due to the value of the US dollar versus the Canadian dollar. The products of RJSpagnol have gone up between 10% and 15%. Unfortunately, I am confident that the wines from Winexpert will follow suit very shortly.

Oct 6th	HOPS AVAILABILITY With supplies of hops growing more dewindling, we have been forced to remove the 4 ounce packaging until future supplies can be determined. Prices are sky-rocketing. Please be patient and don't try to buy up, that would only inflate a very violatile market as it is.

Sept 25th	We made better headway today - getting out close to a 100 orders. I hired a new employee, the two that had ride problems were in today, the one that didn't show or call on Monday repeated the same thing to day - he is history. HOPS AVAILABILITY I have been forced, because of declining availability, to remove all POUND options on ALL HOPS. Prices will be sky rocketing upwards shortly and the quality will be going down as well on some varieties.
Sept 24th	We are gaining ground on the organization department to the point that we were able to get out about 25 orders - we still lost ground on the orders. Three employees out of seven did not come in today. Two had ride problems - the third didn't even call.
Sept 17th thru Sept 22nd	This is one of the worst periods in my business life. Our moving organizational skills have proven to be faulty. We have had trouble finding anything and were unable to get any orders out the door. We have tried to take care of walk-up customers needs but that has proven to be frustrating at times - especially for me. Service is something that I pride myself on and sometimes I over commit myself and my staff - so not giving good service is really frustrating.
Sept 17th	Our move from South Blvd is almost complete, we have one more load to move on Tuesday morning. We weren't able to ship any orders today. That should change tomorrow. We are not quite ready for customers to stop by the new location without bringing patience and understanding. At the present time, we are still unpacking boxes.
Sept 13th	Our move from our South Blvd location of 22 years will start in earnest today. Thursday will be our last full day of operation. Everything in the shop will be on sale at 10% EXCEPT for our recipe packages. Cappers, corkers, kettles, wine presses and crushers, wine kits of all types. We probably won't have much time to make up products so we ask for your understanding and patience.

June 10th	I have started the process of changing prices on our Traditional Recipe Packages. These prices have not been changed in over 3 years. During that time, the following things have effected the pricing, the price of Munton's DME has risen by close to 50%, the price of transportation has increased over 25%, inclusion of leaf or plug hops in place of pellitized hops for the FLAVORING and AROMATIC additions, and hops prices have sky rocketed during the last 4-6 months due to poor harvest in Europe and a fire in Yakama that destroyed high alpha hop storage facilities. The complicated routine that is required to evaluate and calculate pricing on composite items (recipe packages) is my excuse for delaying the inevitable. In some ways, I was hoping that shipping cost and product cost would recede to previous levels - this has not happening and probably happens very seldom. To keep prices as low as possible, I have lowered my margins permanently and to illustrate what the packages prices would be if items were purchased individually, I have posted an "a la carte price". Thank you for your understanding and your patronage. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

Apr 10th 11:33 pm	Finally found the time to post my two most favorite recipes. 90-minute Double Pale Ale and Gemini Double Pale These recipes are extremely high on the IBU charts but absolutely great beers when consumed young - that is right young. Drink up as soon as you get them carbonated and don't plan on keeping them around for a while - isn't happening. They are that good!

Nov 16th 1:35 am	Reduced the margin on Cellar Classic wines; however, the prices of this line did go up slightly due to price increases that were not reflective in the old prices.
Nov 15th 12:50 am	Reduced the prices on most of the wines. Completed are: Selection Estates, Selection International, Selection Premium, Cru Select Platinum, Cru Select Gold and Grand Cru. Besides reducing the prices, I also changed the lay-out on Vino del Vida and Vintner's Reserve. With the reduction in price of these items, the 5% discount for mail order is eliminated.

Feb 18th 7:35 pm	Unfortunately, I am having to revise my prices due to the hit that is being passed down by my suppliers. Products that are imported are getting hit especially hard due to the exchange rate on the DOLLAR. This is something that I NEVER enjoy doing and I usually delay as long as possible, as I have this time. I have not altered any of my mark-ups, so the price changes will be reflective of the new wholesale price increases. I apologize for the changes but be assured that the changes must be made in order to take care of our customers needs in the manner in which we have become known.

Starting the tremendous task of reviewing prices and starting to make those changes that are critical to our business livelihood. DME is the first products to be changed. Feb 1st 2:00 pm	Released another new extract recipe, Panther Porter, in honor of local football heroes and their exciting efforts that have led them to the SUPER BOWL. Dewayne Morris has been very instrumental in developing this recipe based on a beer that is very enjoyable - Alaskan Smoked Porter. This beer is extremely drinkable and think you will truly enjoy it, especially as one of our recipes SPECIALS for the first half of February.

Dewayne Morris and myself have developed a Redhook clone that is destined to be one of the most popular recipes that we market. This beer is extremely drinkable and is as good as the original from the brewery or better. You will truly enjoy this recipe time and again. It is also one of recipes SPECIALS for the second half of January.
