A German Dunkel Lager has a black tint with a less than pronounced hop character, other than its distinct German nose. It is conservatively hopped, bringing forth a wealth of chocolate malt depth. There is a perceivable sweetness that is far from overwhelming, but a true comfort on a chilly winter evening. It has a medium to high carbonation level with enviable head retention.
