2010 Cider Saturday

We will host our first Apple Cider Festival on the third Saturday in November.
We are teaming up with Fritz at Windy Hill Orchard to bring in unculled cider making apples from the mountains of NC. With the assistance of the attendees, we will cull, crush and press the apples to extract the juice so we can make cider and cyser (cider & honey blend).
Very shortly, we will
make available an opportunity to
pre-order the juice so that you will be to make your own cider / cyser. We
anticipate the price of the juice to be around $4 per gallon and most
individuals will need either 6 gallons (to make 5 gallon batch) or 4 gallons (to
Alternative Beverage will supply a cooker, food, paper plates, napkins, plastic
ware, ice, water, tables & what ever is needed.
If you plan to purchase juice at the festival, bring your pails or carboys for transporting. We will supply acid blend, nutrients, pectic enzymes and campden tablets additives to the juice participants at no charge.
Honey, yeast, pails and carboys transport vessels available for purchase as needed.
