National Mead Day
2010 Our 2010 Mead Day celebration was a tremendous success. Attendance was in the range of 150 to 200 people. We 6 batches of mead made during the event with another 6 made in abstentia. We sampled about 12 commercial meads along with a number of homemade meads and homebrews. Food consisted of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato wedges, baked beans and assorted side dishes and snacks. Many thanks to Jason Ramey, Burgin Nixon, Kevin Martin, Gary Cathey, Fred Nichols, J Benton Reid, Bill and Becky Mars, Josh Belfance Palmer Cook and the complete staff at Alternative Beverage for helping to make this event a success. Thanks to the attendees for their contributions to the event and their generosity for the donations to the American Cancer Society.
