Berliner Weisse is the northern German version of wheat beer. It is very pale in color, lightly hopped, and has a low alcohol content. The beer is fermented using a lactic acid infected yeast, which contributes to the sour character of this style. Hop flavor and aroma are non-existent. This beer is very effervescent.
