A very convenient way to measure free sulfite content in dry white wine that has not been put through a malolactic fermentation, and that contains no ascorbic acid. Titrets can be used on red wines, but it is more difficult to use. One package of titrets contain 10 glass ampules; the optional titrettor can make using the ampules more convenient. The proper amount of SO2 is important to over-all quality of your finished wines. When SO2 is at the proper levels, your wine will age and store well, and will not oxidize prematurely. Too little sulfur will produce an undesirable effect; too much will be tasted in the finished wine. This test kit allows you to accurately measure the SO2 level in your wines. NOTE: Test SO2 before adding Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) or excess tannins because the presence of either of these additive may produce unreliable results if the wines. | |
